Going Corona Crazy

Social distancing has been extended through the end of this month! Can you believe it? I was really hoping that once these two weeks of isolation were up we would all be able to go back to our regularly scheduled everyday lives. I don’t know about y’all but I’m being heavily affected by all of this forced indoor time. Since I already work at home, leaving my apartment for leisure was the only time I had away from my place besides taking care of necessary errands. Tons of other models are feeling the same way as I am; we’re sleepy, unmotivated, and quite frankly running out of activities to keep us occupied. For those of you who work at home as well, we feel your pain, and trust me when I say we’re right there with you.

One thing that is helping me stay slightly sane through all of this is all of the memes! I absolutely love memes and turning a difficult situation into something light and funny is something that helps me cope with tough times. If you want to see the kind of memes I enjoy, follow me on Instagram and check out my story. My favorites so far have to be the memes about sending your cat or dog to run errands for you since they can’t contract COVID-19 and this Squidward pin edit:

The only good thing that’s come out of the stay at home order for me is that I’ve knocked out several projects I was procrastinating on starting! As soon as all of this is over I’m probably going to be taking a much needed break from work. Throwing myself into being productive is the main thing keeping me busy and entertained through all of this! When large gatherings aren’t prohibited I want to go to the art museum, The Children’s Museum, to a theme park, to visit my friends, to a sit down restaurant… So many things! I didn’t even realize how many simple activities I was taking for granted before the Corona pandemic began.

How are you holding up with all of this going on? I hope for the sake of everyone’s mental health and well being that this all ends soon. I haven’t ventured out to the stores in a few weeks, but I’m running low on supplies and will have too soon. Last time I was grocery shopping, there was still no toilet paper, minimal necessities like bread and milk, and there were signs posted everywhere limiting customers to one box of tissues, toilet paper, wipes, hand sanitizer, packaged meats, and more! Never in my life have I seen posted limits on what groceries people are allowed to buy.

People are theorizing that we’ll be stuck indoors throughout the whole summer. This sounds like my worst nightmare, personally. I suffer from seasonal depression, especially because in the winter everything in my state is cloudy, gray, dead, and ugly. I thrive in the summer and heat, so being stuck inside and not able to enjoy the season like I normally would will really affect me. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that everything goes back to normal soon, and in the mean time make sure you’re washing your hands and practicing social distancing!
