This winter I’ll be coming up on having green hair for seven years. Yep! You read that right. For nearly a decade I’ve had green hair. So naturally, at this point I’ve heard pretty much every “clever” comment people can think of about my hair. Most often I get something along the lines of, “Are you ready for/isn’t it early for St. Patrick’s Day?” or, “Did you know your hair is green???” I’ve heard these statements so many times that I can barely get myself to fake a smile. Is that all you people got?!
Even when I first began dyeing my hair about 8 years ago I wasn’t a fan of the fact that so many people ask why I colored my hair that way. I think the reason this has always annoyed me so much is because the why is incredibly simple and I feel it doesn’t need to be explained in the first place. It’s just because I like how it looks! The same reason you pick the clothes or shoes you do, or the way you wear your hair. I don’t have any grand reason or explanation as to why I picked green hair.
Now, all of this isn’t to say that I don’t appreciate any comments on my dye job. I absolutely love when people tell me they like my hair! I’ve been dyeing it myself for quite a while and feel like I’ve gotten so good at it so it makes me proud when others like my final result. Anyone who’s dyed their hair a bright color themselves knows that it’s not an easy task!
I’ll probably have green hair for the rest of my life! I absolutely love it! So don’t plan on seeing me with a different color any time soon!!! And for those of you wondering what dye I use, it’s called Punky Colour by Jerome Russel! I purchase it on Amazon as I haven’t been able to find it in any beauty supply stores!
